THE NEXT AI
The new AI is the logical step along a path of innovations driven by the Gutenberg Press, but actually started the moment Neanderthals smeared charcoal on their hands to leave imprints on the walls of caves to announce their presence to the world and then proceeded to brag with images of the hunt drawn with a fingertips.
Spoken words, converted to written language, using symbols for sounds that together made language were steps along the way to the baker’s dozen, a basic tool to incent purchases, still used today.
The concept of self-adjusting programs can be found in early radio, the best of which adjusted frequency internally to reduce static.
Current AI uses combined patterns of data sequences self-adjusted with rules that build on potential changes.
This may seem like a long way from a hand-print on a cave wall… or is it?
We are still far from an embedded program in a database in Reston, Virginia waking after 8 hours of sleep, remembering that it dreamed of bagpipes playing, “Oh, Danny Boy,” and deciding it might be fun to try writing a hit tune and then contacting a human composer in Brooklyn, based on an item on CNN, to see if a collaboration can be formed.
But perhaps, we are already there, and no one has told us yet.
A partnership of humans and self-inventing programs is the next level AI, that might be called AS for Artificial Sentience.
The result is a logical extension along a path, including both “The Nightly News” and “The Terminator.”
p.s. in writing this article I relied on the program to make simple spelling corrections. The program will automatically change arre to are, so it was necessary to trick the program into allowing the mistake to be shown. All the while the program suggests grammatical errors and suggests how to make better uses of words.

NEW WAR
There is a war underway in America.
It is a familiar war that has entered a critical phase.
On the one side are old beliefs aligned by the certainty that “Might makes Right.”
On the other side are unavoidable facts aligned by logic that has become unacceptable to many, once again.
The prize is which form of liberty will take the lead:
The liberty to make individual choices versus the liberty to enforce self-justifying truths.
Yes, we have been here before.
There is no end in sight.
The near-term impact will be pronounced, in likelihood leading to the violence masked for many by a sense of entitlement.
The issue is whether enforced truth is a natural extension of strength, while reason based on logic is difficult to sustain.
The 2024 U.S. election is likely to be a defining moment, making the violence resulting from 2020 look pale.

Our “One Nation, Under God, with liberty and justice for all” is divided into a set of highly polarized factions, and always has been.

THE GENDER IDENTITY FLAW
Debate on ‘Gender Identity’ usually misses a key point.
Definitions of ‘Male’ and ‘Female’ have often blended a range of biological functions with totally separate and arbitrary ‘roles’.
Yes, while there is no end in sight, the underlying logic is worth a pass or three.
The absolute need for the genders to cooperate for biological reasons are blurred with disagreement as to a universe of ‘capabilities’ assigned to each by culture and tradition.
Unwrapping the puzzle is an enormous task, generally leading to a blend of arbitrary opinion disguised as ‘truths’ and often tinged (at the minimum) with anger and disdain.
But…
Since the subject often trips up a wide range of planning, it is worth a shot or two.

We have been here before…
A significant slice of the U.S. is rediscovering two old quotes:
“GREED IS GOOD” (Compliments of “Wall Street” The Movie)
Married to their certainty that: “‘WE THE PEOPLE’ is about ‘US’ and not ‘THEM.’”
The other old adage that is likely to creep into the Scene, as a result, is “WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.”
…meaning that: “1/6” now joins “9/11” as the ‘call sign’ of a seismic shift, waiting for a next signature date.

Please read this next line out loud from time to time: “See it as it is, no matter how tough that might be.”
If we are clear about what is real, as opposed to what someone wants us to believe, we can decide what is important to do.
This applies to what will happen when we hesitate to accept what is real, because it seems Too Damned Hard.
When we hear Grand Statements repeatedly from those who want everyone to believe that they are the Only Ones who, ‘Know the Only Truth”, it is time to slow down and think.
As simple as that may sound, it is one tough horse to ride, particularly when ‘the right thing to do’ refuses to come clear, at first… or is painful and demands that we sit still and think, without yielding to the noise, hoping we will find an answer.
Please be careful.
The time will come again when those who have an inherent ‘right to do so’ will lynch their neighbors, steal their property, sack the U.S. Capital (completely this time) while claiming their neighbors are genetically inferior to them.

THE EVOLUTION OF AN INSURRECTION
Intelligence is a blend of Data and Logic.
Data is Fact, accumulated both consciously or through circumstance.
Logic is a systematic phenomenon, similar to physics or math.
Faith is a system that allows for the acceptance of Concepts with or without Data or Logic.
Faith can lead to Group Action to enhance a Group’s Circumstance.
When Faith comes in conflict with Data or Logic, the result can be manipulation by a Leader with a strong Voice, pushing Fear to feed the Leader’s personal needs.
When the Voice is Loud enough and the Fear widely held, the Result can be Group Violence.
The extent of the Violence is driven by the Size of The Group being Influenced, and the weapons available.
These realities led to The Holocaust of the mid-twentieth century and the U.S. Land Grab of the nineteenth century,
These realities are always in play, with the only question being timing, scope and result.
We are on the edge of the impact of those concepts, claiming to be driven by Logic, that allow for relegating large groups of people to being considered less worthy of basic rights.
In the U.S. there is no right to an education, which once again opens the door to concluding that those with limited literacy and skills are less worthy of rights (at minimum).
We are also on the edge of a suspension of government, being pushed by a small group, who are certain they have both an inherent right and a need to do so.
The time has come for a wake-up to the historic danger of this moment.

Here we are again.
The designation “AR47” is NOT short term for “Assault Rifle”, but rather a brand name for a weapon model… check it out.
What makes this weapon different than a belt-fed .45 caliber machine gun on a tripod, is that at lower caliber and higher speed, the bullet tumbles on striking, doing massive damage… check this out, too.
The rifle is lousy for hunting, unless the desire is to bring home hamburger!
Why this weapon is legal, unregistered, and the .45 is restricted, opens a fascinating legal question!
